My story begins with my feet firmly planted in Jutland’s soil in the city of Herning. My initial ten years consisted of close friends in a close neighbourhood, swimming around the clock and infinite amounts of hours helping the workers load trucks at JN Spedition, my grandfathers company.
My spare time was spend in the county library, where drawing by hand and computers raised my primary interests.
The computer won my interest in 1985, where I in the age of 8, started programming in languages such as COMAL80, Basic and these were quickly replaced with Delphi, Pascal and Assembler.
After ten years in my birth city, we moved to Skive by the fjord. Life brought me new friends, competitive swimming and a lot of bus travels to Herning to visit family and friends. In Skive, my interests persited and horizons were broadened when discovering the skateboard. The deck grapped my main focus and time were spend with travelling, doing shows and practicing my sport in other cities and countries.
After 9th and 10th grade, I were focused on mathematics and my high school years were spend in Holstebro with extra classes in math and music. Friends and acquintances from here are still a big part of my life today.
Music have always been a core passion and in Holstebro I developed my skills, grew long hair and hours were spend with the bass and it’s huge amp. Music Ground School for the rhytmic career brought me to Aarhus where career and education continued from 1996.
A rather untraditional choice in Aarhus, Jutland – where my work became the jobs, all others would rather not have. Friends were backpacking and travelling on the other side of the globe, while I were collecting other families deceased members, cleaned the sewers or drove containter trucks at Aarhus Stevedore Company at the harbor front.
The work career took some shape in the late 90’s through personal interests and passions. Voluntary work as a graphics designer at ‘On Magazine’ and job at a film magazine lead to a one year stay in London, where Kevin from NEON Magazine, Empire Magazine and Playstation Magazine – took me in as apprentice. Life in London were 10 hours plus work six days a week and partying with the australians at night. The job at the magazine made quite an inpression and increased my skills with the graphical rules and knowledge, turning out to be really useful in the years to come.
Back in Aarhus, my technical skills were discovered by Siemens Nixdorf and a consultancy firm within telecom and network solutions. I expanded my skills and horizons with a broad range of Microsoft certifications, while I was eager to learn and still craving for further knowledge.
One day in 2000, the phone rang at the office. It was one of the american telecom providers, Facilicom International, who wanted an interview with me for the position as Wholesale Manager at their POC in Copenhagen. I said “yes” and briefly hereafter my journey continued in the capitol.
Life in the capitol was with undivided attention to work and all the traveling, the job brought with it. After four years at the amercan company, where weekly journey abroad, SS7 programming of Nortel, Alcatel and Lucent switches and corporate living at hotels had shaped my daily routines – a new decision were made.
I started my studies at Copenhagen Business School as MsC in Business Administration and computer sciences, while working as a bartender at Rust on Nørrebro for years to come. Meanwhile I started as selfemployed as a freelance agency, working on quality online projects with amazing and skilled freelancers.
My first office space became in the back of LLLP, and architectural furniture company, later housing the C-level owners of HAY. My online work in collaboration with the architects proved to be the best lesson learned in structurizing data and presentations online, laying the ground foundation of my aesthetics today.
After a few years, I build my very first office space under the cealing and above the nightclub Rust and the web agency took final shape. In 2007 I take in a business partner from the investor world and we move to larger space at Amagertorv in the heart of high street Copenhagen.
Over a period of 9 years, I design and develop digital solutions for a wide range of companies, ranging from the small store on the corner to Adobe, HP, Nasdaq OMX, Samsung and other prominent corporations. My skills and style as well as relations are obviously attractive to the fashion industry where many offer the respectful willingness in working with me.
2014 offers a spontaneous decision and I seel the agency, pulls the plug and moves to Los Angeles. I make several contractor works with production and creative companies and after a year in the US, I recieve the most joyful message – I shall be a father. Back in Copenhagen in 2015, I see the face of my new future as an “adult” with completely different responsibilities. A new era begins!
Being a present parent were a clear desicion for me. My new career manufest offered longterm project works at larger corporations under the terms, that I had time to see my lovely son grow up. Working inhouse with my clients became a mantra and soon turned out to be a great consideration, as I could consolidate and minimize routine processes and increase efficiency for concise and fast results.
The outcome was an exciting and developing journey with building infrastructures at the new Experimentarium, a vast IT transformation at The Danish Shareholders Organization as interim CTO.
Now the years have past and my son is in 1st grade. Life is no longer about being selfemployed for me, but rather a fixed position at a company, who believes to have the need and room for my high level of energy, skills and personality – for many years to come.
I look forward to continue the next chapter of my story…
